Mary Caferro has first-hand knowledge of the challenges families face. She raised four children on her own while working her way out of poverty and is now helping raise her three foster grandchildren. Mary sent her children to Helena public schools and credits our hard-working teachers with helping her children succeed.

A champion for women and children

In the Legislature, Mary has:

Supported state worker pay raises.
Sponsored Pay Equity Task Force bill to protect longevity pay for state workers who temporarily leave the workforce to raise their children.
Successfully advocated to include state workers’ children in CHIP.
